History: Stephen Devine is a famous author who writes Supernatural fiction for young adults. He was researching the witchcraft for his new novel, “The Calling”, when he caught Hecate’s attention. Unlike most adults his age, he took the witchcraft seriously. He did not ridicule it and Hecate respected him for it. Therefore, she took the form of a young Wiccan women named Alexandria and left her business card in his mailbox. Stephen was excited to meet someone from the Wiccan community because he knew that they were a rather tight group and Alexandria could offer him some good information for his new novel. When they met, they instantly hit it off and a year and a half later, Justin was born. They were a happy family for the first day of Justin’s life but tragedy struck soon after. “Alexandria” was killed in a freak car accident. However, that is what Hecate made it seem like with her powers over the Mist. Stephen was very depressed after Alexandria’s death but what kept him going was his new son.
The Calling was a huge success when Stephen published it and it jump started his career as an author. He was rather wealthy which ended up being very helpful with Justin’s upbringing. Although they were wealthy, they lived in a small apartment in Manhattan. However, Stephen made sure that Justin always had whatever he need. He absolutely loved his son and many people would say that he spoiled Justin way too much.
When Justin started school, they immediately discovered that he had dyslexia and ADHD. Stephen quickly responded by hiring after school tutors so Justin would never be behind. The tutors helped a lot and Justin managed to maintain A’s and B’s throughout his entire academic career. Justin also had a lot of friends in school and was really happy until he turned 9 years old.
His class went to a museum one day for a field trip. Justin was really into the dinosaur exhibit and was so busy staring at a T-Rex fossil that he didn’t notice that his class had left him behind. He was really scared and began to panic but a man in a black trench coat with two different colored eyes came to the rescue. He told Justin that the rest of his class had went outside and were waiting for him. Justin was about to follow the man outside when he remembered that his father had told him not to follow strangers. The man immediately responded by saying that he was being mean to his whole class wait by making them wait for him. Justin immediately felt guilty and proceeded to follow the man outside. However, before they exited the museum, a guard stopped the two and began asking questions. The guard was told that a child had been reported missing from his school group and was on look out. The guard began feeling suspicious after he questioned them and he told them to go back and wait in the security room. The man quickly sprinted out of the museum and the guard began chasing him down but the man had vanished.
The class had never went outside and were still inside the museum. The media went crazy over this attempted kidnapping but Justin’s father went berserk. He immediately dropped Justin from that school and enrolled him to an elite private school. Justin had a harder time there because the people there were very conceited and he couldn’t make friends with them. However, he wouldn’t have to wait long until his opportunity came to leave.
A few days after his 12th birthday, a group of bullies had cornered him in the locker room. These bullies had begun harassing for quite a few months so Justin was accustomed to them. However, he was not used to them growing a pair of snake legs. He let out a loud scream as they approached them but once again, someone came to his rescue. The wheel chair kid came rolling in and ran over one of the snake bullies over. Justin was really shocked when the wheel chair kid named Wallace jumped out of his wheel chair with a pair of goat feet. Wallace then escaped with Justin to Half CampBlood where he explained everything.
Stephen was later told about his son’s situation and he agreed to let him stay at Camp Halfblood year round (Justin had to visit at least every once in a while).
Justin rather enjoyed camp and made a lot of friends. He was really anxious to find out who his godly parent was but it came rather clear to him when he got into a fight with an Ares kid. They had been arguing about something stupid near the training area. Things escalated quickly and the Ares kid ended up calling him a faggot. Justin filled with rage and he felt a hot flashes consume his entire body. He had been staring at the Ares kid and was quite confused as to why the kid looked so afraid. But it all made sense as he turned around to see a bunch of sword and daggers levitating off the ground and all pointed towards the Ares kid. Suddenly, all the weapons had dropped to the floor and the symbol of Hecate flashed over him, claiming him as a child of Hecate.
